PRESENT ACTIVITIES OF MTDC ARE BROADLY AS GIVEN BELOW:-
The Manipur Tribal Development Corporation, a Government of Manipur Undertaking is functioning as the Work Agency of the State Government and is executing civil construction works of various Departments. The MTDC comprises of 3(three) sections viz. General Section, Loan Section and Engineering Section. The major Engineering Section is headed by Chief Engineer and he is supported by 2 (two) Superintending Engineers, 1(One) SSW and 1(One) Project Director. The field establishment, headed by 8 (Eight) Divisional Executive Engineers are taking up deposit works of various Department of the State and Central Government.
The Corporation is also functioning as the Channelizing Agency for implementation of Schemes of the National Level Corporation viz
a) National Scheduled Tribes Finance & Development Corporation. (NSTFDC)
b) National Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation. (NSCFDC)
c) National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation. (NSKFDC)
d) National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation. (NBCFDC)
e) National Minorities Finance & Development Corporation. (NMFDC)
MTDC- THE LONE RANGER:-
Though not a Tribal State (as in the case of its neighboring states), Manipur houses the highest number of recognized Scheduled Tribes in the north east India. As such, the tribal population has
accounted for a large chunk of the state’s population standing at a high percentage of 34.20 of the population. Accordingly, a dedicated full fledge department known as Tribal Affairs & Hills
Department has been Carved out in the State Government and the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation has further been set up to spearhead tribal development initiatives in the state under the ambit of the Tribal Affairs & Hills, Manipur.
By recognizing our service we have been certified for ISO 9001:2008 for
Quality Management System under Certificate no:: 32010-A01 and also certified for OHSAS
18001:2007 regarding Health & Safety Management System under Certificate no:: 32010-A111
Accordingly, the MTDC is responsible for any and all developmental undertaking and
initiatives of the state Government and is the sole player in the subject.
